We were in the area for our son's birthday at the Science Museum and our dinner plans fell through so needed a backup. We saw Bacco on the drive so gave it a shot, couldn't have been happier. We had a party of 8 which they were able to take right away. The server, food and drinks were awesome. The servers interaction with our son was awesome and made the evening even more enjoyable than expected. If we're ever back in the area we will definitely make that our stop to eat.
Bacco never disappoints! I love their cheeses and charcuterie, pastas, and their pizzas. Their happy hours are the best deal ever and their drinks are always great!
Perfect little Italian bar/restaurant. Nice ambience, decent wine selection, very good food. I had pizza and a salad - both were delicious. Next time I'll try the pasta.
Bacco is one of my favorite spots to visit, whether it's for lunch, dinner, or just cocktails. The food is also delicious and the drinks are made welll ( they have a wonderful happy hour too) which has deals on both food and drink. This building actually used to be an old bank, so the large windows and high ceilings really make you feel small but in such a good way. The service is also always kind and attentive. If ever in the area you won't regret this stop.
Bacco's downtown location is a solid choice for Italian cuisine in downtown Harrisburg. The menu isn't extensive but there a number of different options (including pizza) suitable for most every taste. As the denotes, Bacco is also a wine bar with nice selection by the bottle and glass. On a recent visit I enjoyed a rigatoni al carbon special, which was basically a twist on carbonara with a creamy vidka sauce with a nice portion of diced pancetta. My companion ordered chicken picatta, which was tasty but apparently a bit too lemony. Both of our pastas were nicely al dente. Bacco's building was originally a bank and previously housed establishments that were more bar than restaurant. The interior is nicely fone but there are lot of hard surfaces so the sound level can boisterous when there are a number of patrons. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Overall, this is a solid spot in downtown Harrisburg and conveniently located near both the Hilton and Crowne Plaza hotels.
Ate here just before closing after a long day of work. Had a salad with grilled salmon, good, salad a bit over-dressed. Good so, fun relaxing atmosphere.
I like Bacco, especially as a downtown place to get a good drink, excellent food, and not be bothered much. The staff are all professional-friendly, though I can totally see it as the local "Cheers" for some. Overall, the look and feel is a bit more upscale than what you might expect when it's often folks in jogging suits and such sitting at the bar. I will certainly back from time to time.
Went to dinner before a show at the Whitaker Center with a friend and since we met at the bar, we decided to just sit at the bar to eat. It was 6pm on a Tuesday and the tables were about 1/2 full. The decor is warm and inviting. My favorite part of the decor is the Autumn themed electronic picture on the wall and they had convenient phone charging stations in the napkins holders at the bar. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and while the wine was good, the pour was scant and at nearly $10 a glass, there should be more. The sign outside advertised clams and they were out. They were also out of the soup of the day. I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken. The salad was good and the small piece of chicken that came with it was moist and flavorful. My friend ordered the pesto linguine and it was delicious. The meal came out relatively quickly and our server, Kai, was very attentive throughout our meal. On a side note, the kitchen, which is half open to the restaurant, makes for a rather loud prep. Quite a few times while we were there, the chef (or the sous chef) was pounding the protein very loudly. While it wasn't necessarily annoying to me, it definitely interrupted the flow of my conversation and I could see less understanding people having an issue with it. Lastly, I then ordered a dessert which was a Neapolitan ice cream ball dipped in a hard chocolate coating. It was sooo good! It's a very nice place to eat before a show but expect to spend a lot on wine and not get much for your $$.
When we visited Bacco, we found it to be both interesting and throughly enjoyable! It's a decidedly elegant place to stop in after work (or anytime) for some wine and cheese. Tip: The daily Chef's Specials are a good bet to hit almost anyone's cravings right on the head! The wine we tried was excellent, while the individual meat and cheese plates were both delicious and interesting. We shared two different plates of cured meats and imported cheeses, and made them vanish faster than bi-partisan cooperation in an election year ;-) Service was efficient, fast, and friendly - we even tried one of their pizzas, and it was so good we almost ordered two more. Bottom line: This is a great place to while away an hour or two with friends over some good food and wine - highly recommended!
